I can think of two people who've had their products stop working to the point they've needed to get warranty involved (aside from people being dumb and dropping their stuff everywhere), and in both cases they just replaced the computer or iPod with a new generation product. In your case it sounds like they're going to the effort of doing it badly! As much as I want to poke fun at the fact your last two posts have been about problems with Apple products, that is sooo bad.
